A year after it was acquired by Seachem Corp., AquaCare Products, which had been making products like shampoo and conditioner in the ocean, is being spun off as a separate company.
AquaCare products are now available on shelves in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
The acquisition has brought Seachere into a wider marketplace where the company’s products are becoming increasingly popular, said Brian S. McBride, chief executive of Aquatic Products.
Aqua Care, a maker of surf and sand-filled soap, shampoo and body lotion, is also working to sell its AquaCare Pro, a shampoo and shampoo-conditioner that it hopes to start selling later this year.
Aquatic products are available in the United States and Europe, and Seaches products have been sold in Japan.
Aquacycare is the only brand that has been able to stay in business in the face of changing consumer tastes, and it is an important source of revenue for Seachems subsidiary, Aquatic Technologies Inc. In addition to its marine products, AquaCare also makes a line of cosmetics, including lotion and body cream, and a line called Aqua Beauty.
Aqualife is an underwater cleaning company.
